About

I treasure my faith and relationship with Jesus Christ, my Savior, my King and my Friend. My life’s purpose is to point others to Him.

Tulsa, Oklahoma is my home. I love living in the Tulsa area with my husband, Gordy. We are empty-nesting and enjoy visiting our three adult children, their spouses and our parents. Our dog, Fitz, is a loyal lap friend and has been known to look over many podcast show notes. He’s also a registered Alliance of Therapy (ATD) dog and serves with me through the therapy dog group I founded: Comfort Canines of Tulsa. Gordy and I also enjoy Pearl, our blue Shar Pei, who is teaching us much about life. We serve together as therapy dog volunteers and enjoy blessing others with our sweet dogs.

Having a passion for people, and the desire to encourage others during the encore years, I love hosting the podcast ministry: Empty Nest Guests. Look for it on Edifi, Spotify and all podcast platforms. I truly believe your encore years can be filled with meaning, mission and possibly a ministry. Tune in and listen as my guests and I share uplifting insight about how you can have a full life while empty nesting.

I love writing. I’m an author of four YouVersion Bible plans: The Blessed Empty Nest, Above the Net, Amazing Grace and Loving Aging Adults and Dog Days and His Ways.  I’m honored to have had a story featured in Guideposts, Angels on Earth. I’ve also had features published in TulsaPeople magazine.

Most of my passions start with the letter “p” – prayer, people, pet therapy, “penning” and publishing the books I’m writing. Stay tuned as 2023 will be the year these projects come to fruition. (I’d love your prayers as I focus my time there. As a type A person, sitting still to write and illustrate can be a bit difficult. I meditate on Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know” and it’s helping.)

My past years as a marketing & PR manager at OSU Medical Center, client/account manager within ad agencies and handling clients has given me a diverse background in the communications business and helps me as I focus on my current endeavors.

I love art and teaching art to children. I serve as a mentor artist with Operation Art, benefiting Operation Aware and also sell my art on Etsy: CharlotteGuestArt and in a local boutique in Tulsa.

Gordy and I attend two churches: Asbury Church and Life.Church. We serve in both as marriage mentors. Because we have been helped by others, we love helping couples grow in Christ and in their life together.

We are University of Arkansas graduates, proud Razorbacks and we love to call the Hogs.

Passionate about living a life of purpose, I’d so enjoy speaking to your group, anytime.

I could eat Mexican food every day but would rather eat it in Mexico. I love a bucket of buttered popcorn at a great movie and feel both are better when shared with those you love.

I’m often inspired by this quote from Helen Keller: “Keep your face to the sun, and you’ll never see the shadows.” 🌻

My Savior, sunshine, strategizing and serving energize my life and passions.

Thanks for reading a bit about me.
